About this tool

Under Article 84 of the Saudi Labor Law, a worker whose contract ends receives an end-of-service award of half a month's wage for each of the first five years and a full month's wage for each year after that, based on the last wage. Parts of a year count in proportion.

Under Article 85, a worker who resigns receives: nothing with less than two years of service, one third of the award with two to five years, two thirds with five to ten years, and the full award with ten years or more.

The "wage" for this purpose generally means the actual wage including regular allowances, not only the basic salary; check your contract and the law's definitions.

Good to know

  • Private-sector rules only; government and some special contracts differ.
  • The exceptions in which a resigning worker keeps the full award are not modelled; choose "Contract ended" if one applies to you.
  • An estimate, not legal advice.
